    My power point presentation is designed for a 7th grade class to learn the 7 musical time periods. Students will visually see the information, aurally hear me speak it, use motions to kinesthetically remember the content, and write the information on a worksheet.

    This lesson is designed for a 6th grade general music class. Using a teacher created website, students will research world music from one of 6 cultures – India, Indonesia, Middle East, Caribbean, Western Africa, and Native American. The students will be working in the computer lab section of their classroom. Teacher will be utilizing the smart board to show students how to navigate through the site and get the required information. This project will take 3 class periods to complete the project and 2 class periods to present the researched information.

    Students will understand the diversity of the world they live in and the importance of accepting all people in that world. Students will explore 1 of 6 types of multicultural music and report to the class the information they researched.
    Objectives:
    1. Students will interpret a cartoon using complete sentences and organized thoughts.
    2. Students will listen and analyze two pieces of music from other countries using videos on the internet.
    3. Students will research 6 facts on their assigned country’s music using the internet.
    4. Students will create a power point presentation with a group that contains 5 facts per person using prior knowledge learned in computer class.
    5. Students will present 5 facts per person to the class using proper vocal tone, eye contact, and confidence.
    Overview:
    This lesson is designed for a 6th grade general music class.
